Nice try lads!
At Azure Design, we admire people with a bit of neck. What would we have watched in the 80's if it wasn't for maverick cops sticking it to those pen-pushing beaurocrats at City Hall with their off-beat methods ("You're off the case, give me your badge and gun"... "Just give me another 24 hours, Chief!")?
Somewhere between cheeky scamp and thieving get there's a line, though, and we think those little tinkers at Spidersnet might just have crossed it, rubbed it out and replaced it with a thirty foot high statue of a fist with protruding middle digit.
Spidersnet are a company that build websites for the automotive industry, and in one of the most brilliantly crafted works of fiction since Napper Goes for Goal, the Dealer Listings section of their site contains a hilarious entry for the lovely folk at Factory Outlet Cars (you'll find it under E - obviously). You can read a webgrab of this page here.
The slight, tiny technicality that probably just slipped their minds is that the image they use on the page, the site it belonged to and the current Factory Outlet Cars website the page links to are all designed and built by Azure. That's us. Not Spidersnet.
The site that they use in their page graphic, which you can see on the Internet Archive Way Back Machine for March 2006, is the first site that Azure developed for Factory Outlet Cars, the - and we quote - "creaky old website that was slow-loading and difficult to update" is a site that was designed by... um... Spidersnet (see the Internet Archive Way Back Machine for February 2006). The current site, as we designed it and before it was souped up in a way that only a car site could, can be viewed here.
Absent-minded honest mistake or weaseling, devious, calculated attempt to thieve somebody else's hard graft and call it their own? You decide!
